Flora María Sánchez at first became an architect although she has been immersed in the world of jewelry since childhood.
In 1988 she moved to Chiapas, Mexico where she discovered her life's greatest passions: meditation, hatha yoga, cultural diversity and natural splendor, including Chiapas' fine amber.
She began creating jewelry combining silver and semi-precious stones with this natural millennial resin. In 1990 she opened El Árbol de la Vida (the Tree of Life), her first store offering her own designs, in San Cristóbal de Las Casas, Chiapas.
Twenty-three years later, this jewelry designer offers her collections via a national and international distribution network, and in her six stores: one in Madrid, two in Mexico City, two in San Cristóbal de las Casas, Mexico and one in Guadalajara, Mexico.
For the design, production, sales and administration of her creations, she relies upon a great team of individuals who make it possible to turn creativity, quality and service into Joyas de la Tierra (Earth´s Jewels); as a way of expressing love and respect for Nature.
Flora María calls her jewelry Joyas de la Tierra because her inspirations and the elements used to create are indeed jewels given by the Earth, Nature's treasures: silver, amber from Chiapas, pearls, coral and natural stones. With these elements she fashions jewelry collections inspired by the world's ecosystems and people, and particularly by Mexican culture.
